Commitment to Transparency
In light of earth week and transparency in the fashion industry, I want to shed some light on our practices here at Zabette and what we do to keep our carbon footprint small and make sure fair wages are paid across the supply chain.
All of our garments are designed in Chicago, Il and our pre-production is currently done in Los Angeles at indie source. Come autumn 2020, we aim to move production to a smaller facility with a lower MOQ so we can focus on a more made-to-order quality.
When sourcing fabric, we always try and opt for a natural fiber over a synthetic. we’re proud to also be incorporating ECONYL® into our collections, which is an infinitely recyclable fiber. It is created from nylon waste from landfills and oceans around the world and is transformed into ECONYL® regenerated nylon. It's exactly the same as brand new nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remolded again and again.
We don’t have all of our packaging yet, but we’re looking at mailers and simple hang tags that are made from recycled materials, are printed with vegetable ink and are recyclable and/or compostable.
There’s still a long way to go, and we have big goals of zero-waste and a circular economy within our brand. We’re excited to see where this journey takes us, but we’re ready to do better for mother earth.
