From Trash to Treasure: Abandon Nets to New Garments

I’m very excited to be working with ECONYL ® for the Bly Land & Sea Suit, they’re taking the fashion industry by storm, being one of the first to practice a more circular practice of textile rather than the typical linear or occasional reuse of the industry.

The ECONYL® process has four steps:

Rescue - The ECONYL® regeneration system starts with rescuing waste like fishing nets from the oceans (by the organizations like the healthy seas initiative), fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic from landfills and oceans all over the world. that waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible.

Regenerate - Through the regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled back to its original purity, meaning the quality is the exact same as virgin nylon.

Remake - The ECONYL® regenerated nylon is then processed into carpet and textile yarn.

Reimagine - The beauty of ECONYL® regenerated nylon is that the possibilities are endless, you can recycle continuously it without losing its quality - and to enhance those possibilities, whenever you buy a zabette garment made with ECONYL® and send it back to us once you’ve loved it to pieces, we’ll send it back to be regenerated and send you a thank you coupon for helping us make the fashion industry more circular.
