Zabette (za•bèt): Anything that is new or can surprise you is welcomed with open arms. Routines of a so called normal life bore you immensely. Wanting to fly high and experience adventure you might be best suited for jobs that are somewhat unusual.

Zabette isn’t just “a brand” it’s a full on lifestyle. One of wanderlust, creativity and passion.

Zabette is who I am and also who I want to be.

She’s fun, a little flirty and never afraid of an adventure.

She’s an avid explorer - find her photographing wildlife in the Serengeti or losing herself in a painting at the Uffizi.

She’s in touch with the women who fought for her so she can go where she wants go, following in their bold footsteps.

She keeps a little piece of everywhere she visits stowed away in her heart. From heart to hearts with a Māori man while sitting a Wharenui in the Te Papa, to remembering exactly how the lights on the Eiffel Tower twinkled at midnight in Paris.

Home isn’t a place, it’s just wherever she happens to be.

Here at Zabette we create one of a kind womenswear and accessories inspired by my travels, nature and architecture, with nods to pop culture. Utilizing thrifted and second hand fibers, we are able to divert it farther from landfills and give it new life. I enjoy using bright colors, interesting textures and patterns along with hand embroidery to add additional elements of interest - it’s fashion for the fun, funky and fearless!

We're dedicated to creating a space in the apparel world that is stylish, inclusive, sustainable...and still have functional pockets.

In creating that space, there is a passion to work with human rights, animal rights and environmental protection organizations. We are a One Tree Planted partner, planting a tree for each purchase made. We hope to add more organizations to this list in the near future.

Want your favorite organization to be considered? Please fill out the contact form with subject line “give back” and tell us all about why you want to see them represented (must be a 501(c)(3)).

We are also passionate about collaboration with other small businesses, supporting each other by curating art markets around the Buffalo, NY area through Strange Times Studio, of which Zabette is a co-founder.

Meet Liz, the founder of Zabette. Growing up, she dreamed of visiting far away places and discovering the world around her. While studying apparel design at Columbia College Chicago, she had the opportunity to study abroad at London College of Fashion. It was there that her whole world opened and her passion for travel was ignited.

Upon returning from her post-graduate internship with Brit Wacher in Montreal, Quebec she was inspired to create a line of womenswear that offered functions most of the industry had left out of out women's garments, with a focus on the pocket.

She is also committed to sustainability not only in her brand, but everyday life as well. You can usually find her cozied up watching a movie, or outside on a summer day with her bare feet in grass soaking in the energy of the world around her.
